Getting Started in Evade
Evade is a survival horror game where you must outrun relentless hunters across multiple rounds. Each round, one or more players become hunters while the rest are survivors. Survivors win by staying alive until the timer runs out or completing all objectives.
Sound is your lifeline — wear headphones and listen for hunter footsteps. Hunters are faster than survivors in straight lines, so never run in open areas. Use corners and obstacles to break line of sight, then hide in closets or under beds until the hunter passes. The heartbeat audio cue means a hunter is within 20 studs — find cover immediately.
Survival Guide & Map Tips
Each map has safe zones that hunters can't enter. Memorize their locations as soon as the round starts — they're your fallback when you're caught in the open. Safe zones are marked by green glowsticks at the entrance.
Items spawn randomly throughout the map. The Flashbang stuns nearby hunters for 3 seconds — use it when a hunter has you cornered. The Smoke Bomb creates a cloud that hides you from hunter vision but doesn't mask your footsteps. Always carry at least one escape item after the 2-minute mark — by then most hunters have their abilities charged and become significantly more dangerous.
Pro Tips
Hunter prediction is based on movement patterns. Most hunters sprint toward the last survivor they saw — use this: make eye contact, duck around a corner, and hide. The hunter sprints past, giving you 5-10 seconds to move opposite. Advanced hunters check lockers — avoid obvious hiding spots.
Team coordination multiplies survival. Assign one player to bait the hunter while others complete objectives. The bait player needs the highest mobility. Never all hide in one room — a single AoE ability can wipe your entire team.
Safe zones have hidden cooldowns — 15 seconds protection per 60-second window. Camping too long deactivates the zone. Use them as temporary shelters, not permanent hiding spots. The green glowstick fades 5 seconds before deactivation — leave before it turns red.
