Murder Mystery 2 Guide 2026
Everything you need to survive Murder Mystery 2, from role basics and murderer tells to the latest knife values, active codes, and trading advice for the Roblox lobby.
Getting Started in Murder Mystery 2
Murder Mystery 2 drops up to twelve players into a map where one is the Murderer, one is the Sheriff, and everyone else is an Innocent. The Murderer must eliminate everyone, the Sheriff is the only player with a gun who can stop them, and Innocents need to stay alive while helping the Sheriff figure out who the killer is.
Each round starts with a short countdown. Use that time to get your bearings and move away from large clusters of players, since the Murderer often opens by attacking groups. If you are the Sheriff, hold your fire until you are confident; shooting an Innocent kills you and drops the gun for anyone to grab.
Between rounds you can trade knives and guns in the lobby. Cosmetics do not change gameplay, but rare items have real trading value. Focus on learning maps first, because cover, hiding spots, and escape routes matter more than any weapon skin.
Tips for Innocents, Sheriff & Murderer
Innocent
Keep moving and stay near other players without bunching up. If the Sheriff dies, the gun drops on the floor and you can become the hero by picking it up. Do not grab it in the open unless the Murderer is far away. Watch for players who hover near bodies or run away the moment someone dies.
Sheriff
Patience wins rounds. Wait for the Murderer to swing or chase before firing, because a single misfire ends your protection. Stay in open areas so you can see the knife animation clearly, and keep distance so you have time to react. Communicate with living Innocents if you are in a party.
Murderer
Play calm at first and blend in. Target the Sheriff early if possible, since removing the gun makes the rest of the round much easier. Use corners and third-person camera to peek around walls, and do not chase one player for too long because it gives away your identity. Throwing your knife can secure kills from range, but it leaves you briefly defenseless.
How to Spot the Murderer
Reading player behavior is the most reliable way to identify the killer before they strike. The Murderer has to get close to attack, so anyone who repeatedly drifts toward isolated players or lingers near bodies is suspicious.
- Knife animation: A small equip or swing motion is visible just before an attack.
- Body language: Players who avoid eye contact, stop emoting, or circle the Sheriff are often the killer.
- Timing: If a death happens right after someone left a room, follow that direction.
- Gun grab: After the Sheriff dies, watch who rushes the dropped gun; the Murderer may camp it.
- Over-defensive: Innocents rarely accuse others first; early, loud accusations can be a deflection.
Trust your observations over chat claims. Good Murderers will try to frame others, so look for physical evidence rather than taking accusations at face value.

Trading Value Guide
MM2 trading is all about supply and demand. Godly items from limited events or old crates usually rise in value over time, while items that stay in boxes or return every year are easier to replace and trade for less.
- Use value lists: Check a trusted MM2 value list before accepting a trade. Values shift after every update.
- Trade up slowly: Small trades carry less risk than swapping one huge item for another.
- Avoid doubles pressure: A trader claiming "duplicates" is not a reason to overpay.
- Verify the item: Scammers may switch a Chroma for a non-Chroma at the last second.
- Never cross-trade: Trading MM2 items for Robux or out-of-game promises is against Roblox rules.
If a trade feels rushed, decline it. The best deals happen when both players know exactly what each item is worth.
Working Murder Mystery 2 Codes
Redeem these codes by opening your inventory and typing them into the code box in the bottom-right corner. Codes are case sensitive, so enter them exactly as shown. They usually reward free knives or other cosmetics.
Codes can expire without warning. If one does not work, it has likely been retired by the developers. We update this list after each major game update.
